Race #2 in the R&S Tech Niagara Running Series Half Marathon championships

Date: Sunday September 28th , 2008

Location: Market Square , St. Catharines

Race times: Half Marathon -9a.m. 5k – 9:15 a.m.

Race Day Registration and Race Kit Pick up: Market Square 7:00 to 8:30 a.m.

Points – The Half Marathon is a points race.

Directions: 110 kilometers from Toronto, 55kilometers from Hamilton and Burlington,100 kilometers from Guelph and 35 miles from Buffalo.

· QEW to Lake Street

· South on Lake to James

· Turn left on James to Market Square

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the area please avoid the church lots.

Highlights:

· The course is certified by Athletics Canada measured by Bernie Conway Half – ON-2006-081-BDC 5k-0N-2006-082-BDC

· Championchip timing by Sportstats

· Each Kilometer is marked

· Courses are beautiful flat and very fast running in downtown St. Catharines to the beautiful vineyards of Niagara and finishing back downtown.

· 6 Aid Stations in the Half.

· Part of the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival. Travel over to Montebello Park and enjoy the festivities after the race.

Finishers Medals to all Half Marathon finishers in recognition of their accomplishment! There is a 3 hr time limit for the half marathon.

Prize money: 1^st overall -$200, 2^nd overall - $150, 3^rd overall - $100 top master - $50 in the half marathon only

Awards to: 1,2,3 overall top master and 3 deep in 5 yr. age groups from 19 and under to 70+

R&S Tech Half Marathon championships

The Grimsby Half Marathon and the Run for the Grapes Half Marathon will combine to award Niagara Half Marathon champions in all categories. Awards to 1,2,3 overall top master and 3 deep in 5yr age groups from 19 and under to 70+. Awards will be handed out at the Casablanca Classic.

Elite Prize Money for R&S Tech Niagara Running Series Half Marathon championship : $1,000

For Grimsby Half and Cogeco Half combined times.

1^st overall $200 , 2^nd overall $150,3^rd overall $100 Top master $50
