Official Training Race for the Around the Bay Road Race

Date: Sunday February 24^th, 2008

Location: Grimsby Secondary School, 5 Boulton Ave. Grimsby

Race times: Half Marathon -9a.m. 5k – 9:15 a.m.

Race Day Registration and Race Kit Pick up: Grimsby Secondary School 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Points- The Half Marathon is a Points race.

Directions: 85 kilometers from Toronto, 25kilometers from Hamilton and Burlington, 55 kilometers from Niagara Falls, 80 kilometers from Guelph and 50 miles from Buffalo.

· QEW to Christie Street

· South on Christie to Main Street

· Turn Right on Main St. to Kidd Ave.

Parking: park in the McDonalds parking lot and walk up Kidd Ave. to high school or park in lot off Briarwood behind high school.

· The half marathon course is fairly flat you will go over an overpass at 6k, small rise at 7.5k, small rise at 18.5k, overpass at 19k and a small hill at 20.5k

Finishers Medals to all Half Marathon finishers in recognition of their accomplishment! There is a 3 hr time limit in the half marathon.

Half Marathon Awards:

Prize money: $1,000 - 1^st overall -$200, 2^nd overall - $150 3^rd overall - $100 top master - $50

Awards to: 1,2,3 overall top master and 3 deep in 5 yr. age groups from 19 and under to 70+

R&S Tech Half Marathon championships – $1,000 in prize money

The Grimsby Half Marathon and the Standard Run for the Grapes TVCogeco Half Marathon will combine to award R&S Tech Niagara Half Marathon champions in all categories. Medals will be awarded to 1,2,3 overall top masters and 3 deep in 5yr age groups. Awards will be handed out at the Casablanca Classic.

Elite Prize Money

For Grimsby Half and Cogeco Half combined times.

1^st overall $200, 2^nd overall $100,3^rd overall $100, Top master $50

5k Awards: 1^st ,2^nd , 3^rd overall, Top Master and 3 deep in 5yr age groups from 14 and under to 70+

All Runners who register before February 10^th will receive a long sleeve race T shirt pre registration will close on February 21^st.
